Faringitis
Definición
Es una inflamación de la faringe. La faringe se encuentra en la parte posterior de la garganta, entre las amígdalas y la laringe.Esta afección frecuentemente provoca dolor de garganta.

Sintomas
El síntoma principal es un dolor de garganta.Si se presenta faringitis estreptocócica, otros síntomas pueden abarcar:FiebreDolor de cabezaGanglios linfáticos inflamados en el cuello
Tratamiento
El tratamiento depende de la causa subyacente del dolor de garganta. Las gárgaras con agua caliente y sal, los analgésicos y los líquidos pueden ayudar. Asimismo, se prescriben antibióticos si se diagnostica una faringitis estreptocócica.
Espectativas - Pronóstico
La mayoría de los casos de faringitis desaparecen por sí solos sin complicaciones.
